E-Bots (Textiles)

Course Description

E-textiles, or electronic textiles, is a fascinating intersection of technology and fashion.

This hands-on course is designed to introduce you to the world of e-textiles and inspire your creativity in developing e-bots - small, electronically enhanced fabric-based robots.

Learn to merge traditional textile techniques with electronic components to create your own bots using LED lights, conductive thread, battery packs and your imagination!

Understanding E-Textiles: Gain a comprehensive understanding of e-textiles, including the basics of conductive materials, sensors, and microcontrollers.


Circuit Design: Learn how to design and construct circuits using conductive threads, fabrics, and components.

Sewing Techniques: Acquire essential sewing and fabric manipulation skills for embedding electronic components seamlessly into textiles.

E-Bot Prototyping: Create and customize e-bots 


Problem Solving: Develop the ability to troubleshoot and solve common issues encountered when working with e-textiles and e-bots.


Creativity and Design: Encourage students to think creatively and design e-bots that express their unique ideas and concepts.

Prerequisites: No previous experience with e-textiles or electronics is required, but basic familiarity with sewing and crafting can be beneficial.
