Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Close.

A practical course covering many different aspects of computing.  Students develop skills using the commonly used software programs (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Photoshop, Powerpoint), some programming knowledge, introductory computer science and the ability to use digital technologies to problem solve.

Students will find the computing skills learned will help with all types of employment and further education.

Pathway

Level 1 Digital Technologies give students a broad overview of commonly used computer software programs, plus an introduction to Computer Science and coding for the development of own computer websites and programs. As computing skills are vital in almost every job students learn these valuable vocational skills or this could lead to further study in Computer Science.

Assessment Information

Most assessments are internally assessed.
There is an option to enter AS91886, which is an external assessment about how humans and computers interact.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
