L3HIS

Level 3 History

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs J. Turner.

This course of study is intended to build on the knowledge and skills of Year 12 History. However, students will be required to explore issues and events at a greater depth and with more historical insight than was required in the Year 12 course. This course is a broad survey course which examines events over a more extended period of time than in previous History courses. If you have not studied History before, there is no major problem in picking up History at this level if you are prepared to learn new skills and approaches to dealing with different knowledge. The topics we cover are an in depth look into the Central Otago gold rush with a field trip down to Arrowtown and Queenstown and a look at our local histories with a field trip to Akaroa. We will also examine a contested event where we analyse strategic bombing over time throughout different wars. For any further information or questions please come and talk to Mrs Turner.
