Recommended Prior LearningYou will need to have some experience on an instrument which includes singing. This course is not for beginners and you will be required to perform in front of audience.
Level 1 Music
At Level 1 Music you will learn the elements of Performing Music, Understanding Music and Creating Music. You will choose your focus instrument and have the opportunity to work as a soloist and as member of a group. You will work in a supportive and creative environment where you will be allowed to grow as a musician and develop your skill level.
Term 1
Group Performance - Developing skills in Group Performance. Working collaboratively. There will be opportunities to perform your group piece to an agreed audience.
Term 2
Solo Performance - Developing you skills on your chosen instrument. Understanding the skills required to be a solo performer. There will be an opportunity to perform to an agreed audience.
Term 3
Composition - Writing and creating your own Music. This can be done as a soloist or a collaborative group composition. You will look at a variety of compositional techniques such as Film Music, Song-Writing and Music for Video Games.
Term 4
Performances - For the final term we will create a performance piece to be performed at Senior Prizegiving.
