Course Description

This course aims to support English Language Learners to refine their academic English language skills. It offers scaffolding for advanced level English tasks and texts needed to achieve senior English Language Unit Standards. This course will also support the students’ learning in other subject areas. Accelerant students may be offered EAP (English for Academic Purposes) at the discretion of the HOD. All students who have not already attained this, will complete the NCEA co-requisite Literacy Standards.
Assessment Information
Students will be entered for the appropriate level English Language Unit Standards depending on their langauge competency. All students will attempt the NCEA co-requisite Literacy Standards.Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 45 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 35 credits.
