Year 9 English

Year 9 English is designed to develop skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, presenting and viewing. Students will be introduced to the study of a range of texts such as novels, short stories, poetry, films, speeches and advertisements. They will have fun with literature: looking at fantasy, cultural narratives, fables, myths and other thematic texts as both a reader and a writer. Students will develop their language skills through structured literacy; discover how language helps us to express ourselves; and understand how language builds connections with others.
